Sexual preferences are as diverse as people who engage in them. It is something that is highly individualized and what one person enjoys, another simply may not, but still, there are some universally hated sex positions by both men and women that we will delve into today. But first, why do some positions are hated while some are beloved?
Well, it all comes down to a few things - Physical comfort, Pleasure, and simplicity.
- Pleasure is the reason you engage in sex in the first place.
- You cannot have pleasure without physical comfort.
And you wanna have a fun time so anything complex is a straight NO NO. There are all sorts of these positions that aim to maximize these three things and sexual positions that fail to provide all of them are generally not loved by people. Now, Let’s look at some of the positions that both men and women hate.
69 is very Complex
While the number is very famous in amusing terms for its connection with sex, couples don’t really enjoy it and the reason is pretty straightforward. It's complex and not comfortable at all. It is more distracting than pleasurable. The preference here is on the positioning rather than freely enjoying oral sex. Co-ordinating movements and maintaining focus on one’s own pleasure while simultaneously giving pleasure to your partner…..Uff give me a break already.
It's not fun.
It’s not pleasurable.
It’s not at all stimulating.
It’s an internet meme and let it be that way.
Reverse Cowgirl is not very intimate.
This one is yet another famous, still disappointing position and the reasons are quite simple - No Face-to-Face contact and Unnatural penetration angle. It’s quite challenging physically, not comfortable at all. I mean you are having an intimate moment with your partner and you can’t even look at each other’s face - not something many people like. The receiving partner is looking at the feet of the giving partner - There’s literally zero intimacy in it. The penis is moving in a way that is unnatural. It can be quite uncomfortable for the guy or even cause pain.
Missionary is vanilla.
This might come off as a surprise because ya it’s not something couples like. Most Movies and TV series make it feel like it's good - but you need to have great chemistry with your partner to make missionary work. For men, it is simply old, plain, and boring. They are always looking for something that is more exciting and adventurous.
Missionary is too vanilla for them.
Women hate it because, you know there is no real involvement of hers in that position. She is just lying there. Also there is just no proper placement of the hand, Where is the woman supposed to put them? Give a back massage? Yeah, that’s not what she is there for. Put them on the guy’s butt? That’s straight-up weird. So as I said earlier, It is quite an intimate position, and it's great if you have good sexual chemistry but if you had, then you probably wouldn’t be reading this, so just letting you know. You can still give it a try.
Anything that involves Standing
This requires no explanation. Having sex while standing is very much discomforting both for the man and the woman. You cannot fully enjoy sex standing. You require balance, and coordination and you might feel fatigued as well and this compromises the pleasure part as well. Lotus is…it’s not what you think. Okay, this might come off as another surprise but Lotus might look quite romantic and intimate in theory but in practice, it can be quite difficult and uncomfortable.
Why?
The Closeness.
The closeness is what makes it feel romantic but it's difficult to find a good angle for penetration because you’re so close to each other. Not a good angle will lead to discomfort, discomfort will lead to less pleasure and this becomes a bad position as well.
Crab Walk is…It's very exhausting
You might not have even heard about it unless you’re way conscious or curious about sex positions. It requires one partner to lie down on their back and the other one to get on top and insert the penis into the vagina. It puts a heavy strain on arms and legs and the movement and simulation are very limited, that’s why it's one of the least favoured positions.
The wheelbarrow is… just stupid
Another one that you might not know. Involves one partner standing and holding the other partner's leg while the other partner is in a plank-like position with hands on the ground. The penetrating partner may struggle to maintain a steady rhythm and depth of penetration, while the receiving partner may feel vulnerable and unsupported. Also the strain on arms and legs for both partners - It's just not worth it, it's very much not comfortable and deprives you of any pleasure.
Pile Driver is very extreme.
A pile driver is also something you might have not heard of, it is a very extreme position that requires very much strength and flexibility from both partners. The angle is very intense (google it if you don’t know) and deep penetration may cause discomfort or pain for the receiving partner, also there is always a risk of injury. The difficulty in achieving and maintaining such pleasure retracts all the pleasure from it.
Ballet Dancer: Not fun unless you are one.
Okay, I won’t waste much time on this one. It involves standing, and as mentioned earlier, anything standing is bad and not preferred by people, so just cut this one out, too.
CrissCross is very impractical
This one requires crossing both partners’ legs while facing each other - Something that is difficult to achieve and maintain. The range of motion in this one is limited, you cannot do much and this leads to the simulation being limited as well. Finding a comfortable angle for penetration in CrissCross is a game of trial and error and will often lead to frustration and distraction. It is more awkward than it's worth.
Pogo Stick
Pogo Stick is yet another standing position and that is equally bad as other standing positions.
It is a balancing act gone wrong. It may seem like a fun and energetic choice, especially on the flow but it requires you to maintain a risky balance while engaging in intimate activities and it leads to the constant struggle to synchronize and maintain stability, the experience is very often disappointing. So, these were some of the worst sexual positions out there. Sexual satisfaction is something that is deeply personal and subjective and what works for one person may not work for another - The positions listed here are some common preferences but preferences vary widely from individual to individual.
The key to discovering what brings pleasure and satisfaction in the bedroom is Communication and Experimentation. Whether you’re exploring tried and tested favorites or getting into uncharted territory - You need to prioritize Comfort, enjoyment, and mutual pleasure. They are non-negotiables.
